Catherine began singing with choirs from the time she was in elementary school and continued on, eventually singing with her high school a cappella choir, often as a soloist.
Later in life, she took classes in solo singing at Cabrillo Community College, and performed with several singing groups there, including the Cabrillo Symphonic Choir, which performs every year with the Santa Cruz Symphony Orchestra; the Cabrillo Jazz Singers; the Cabrillo Chorale; and Cantiamo! Cabrillo. She has also sung with the Santa Cruz Chorale and the San Jose Choral Project. She is currently a member of the 18-voice chamber ensemble, Ariose, directed by Camille Couture.
From 1996 through 2004, Catherine worked as a resident chorus member with the Bay Shore Lyric Opera Company in Capitola, California.
Catherine served as a member of the Santa Cruz Chamber Players board of directors from 2005 - 2014. She served as president during her last 2 years on that board. She also served as a staff member of that organization for 5 years, working as director and coordinator for the SC Chamber Players’ youth program, Celebrating Youth.
She has been serving on the board of New Music Works for the past three years, and she is also a member of the board of directors for the Ariose singers.
