The Ariose Singers perform works by Renaissance masters of the Italian madrigal, as well as modern madrigal settings of Emily Dickinson's poetry by American composer Elliott Carter (in honor of his 100th birthday). Also included on the program are selections from Brahms's op. 104 collection of choral songs, Three Shakespeare Songs by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Four Motets on Gregorian Themes by French composer Maurice Duruflé, and a reprise of Ariose's recent world-premiere performance of three new choral works by young Californian composer Nick Vasallo.
